Stem Cell Therapy
Stem Cells trials have shown great promise for healing a number of medical conditions including osteoarthritis, heart disease, and diabetes. They have also been the subject of much controversy because of the various techniques for harvesting and manipulation. At NFSS we use autologous bone marrow-derived stem cells.
These cells are taken from the patients own bone marrow and then injected into the area of need. This technique has a proven record of being safe and effective. The procedure is performed in a single visit and is often recommended for patients with a high activity level looking to heal naturally and avoid surgery.

Regenerative Medicine
PRP
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. This procedure involves drawing a patients own blood, which is then placed in a centrifuge and separated. The PRP is then isolated and placed in a syringe. This portion of blood plasma is rich in growth factors and cell signaling proteins called cytokines which promote tissue healing. PRP is often recommended for chronic muscle strain and tendon damage. It's also a good option for patients who are intolerant to oral medication and steroid injections.
